Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Program

Photo of the location. The New Mexico Department of Health announced that the New Mexico Rehabilitation Center (NMRC) in Roswell is expanding its substance abuse treatment program.  For the first time, it is offering an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Treatment will be delivered in a therapeutic group setting three times a week for 16 weeks. Each session lasts three hours.

The IOP treatment includes: relapse prevention, social support, early recovery skills/continued recovery and family education.

NMRC also offers inpatient substance abuse treatment. It’s an intensive 21-day rehabilitation program open to all New Mexico residents.

In addition to substance abuse treatment, NMRC is a specialty hospital that offers other rehabilitation services. Acute rehabilitation services including occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech-language pathology are provided to both inpatient and outpatients. The facility serves patients with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, fractures, and many other medical conditions that require intensive therapy.

Individuals interested in learning more about these services, including the new IOP program can call NMRC at 575-347-3400.  NMRC accepts most insurance, and will also work with you for self-pay services.  Please contact the business office for more specific information.

Established in 1968, NMRC has been recognized among the top 10 comprehensive rehabilitation units in the United States and was recently reaccredited by the Joint Commission.
