State General Funded Services

The Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD) provides an array of services that are available to children and adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and their families. Funds are available based on Legislative appropriation from the State General Funds. There may be waiting lists for these services due to the limited availability of these funds. SGF services are available to individuals who are not currently served through one of the Medicaid Waiver Programs (Developmental Disabilities Waiver, Mi Via Waiver, Medically Fragile Waiver).


The New Mexico Family Supports and Reimbursement Program is intended to assist individuals with developmental disabilities and their families that do not qualify for Medicaid State Plan benefits. Please visit links below for more information:


Services

DDSD has provider agreements in place statewide with provider agencies for the following services:

Respite Services

Respite is a flexible family support service that provides short term, temporary care to people with disabilities or children or adults with intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD). This service allows families to take a break from the daily routine of care giving.

Residential Services

The Residential Services available under the State General Fund include ‘Supported Living’ and ‘Independent Living’ and are available to adults, age 22 or older, with an intellectual or Developmental Disability.

Day Services

Day Services available through the State General Fund include both ‘Supported Employment ‘and ‘Day Services’. These services are available to adults age 22 or older, who have an Intellectual / Developmental Disability (IDD) Day services include supporting the individual with IDD to engage in purposeful work, learning, skill development, or community inclusion activities that are directly linked to their Individual Service Plan (ISP).

Service Standards

The DDSD FIT & SGF FY20 Service Definitions & Standards address each service provided under State General Funded Provider Agreements with the Developmental Disabilities Supports Division, except for Outcome Based Services and Special Projects (Outcome Based Service and Special Project requirements will be individually described in each Scope of Service incorporated into the State General Funded Provider Agreements affected). These standards also include personnel requirements for people employed by or contracting with agencies providing State General Funded services, known herein as the provider. Individuals should expect to receive services that meet these standards.
