Intensive Medical Living Services

Intensive Medical Living Services (IMLS) is a community living option for persons with complex medical needs who require intensive direct nursing care and oversight. This service promotes health and supports everyone to acquire, retain or improve skills necessary to live in the community and prevent institutionalization.  This service may be accessed short term for recovery after illness or hospitalization or may be accessed long term.

The IMLS Parameter tool is used to determine the individual’s actual needs. Refer to the Parameter tool and instructions. The parameter tool the nurse’s worksheet and documentation supporting this request is submitted to the Outside Review process.

All IMLS providers must be Supported Living providers and must support the need for daily nursing visits and a weekly RN oversight visit.
