Crisis Response Team

The Crisis Response Team (CRT) is administered through the Bureau of Behavioral Support (BBS) to mobilize and work alongside individuals and their teams when there is a crisis. For many crisis situations, the CRT consists of the BBS Crisis Coordinator/Administrator, the regional crisis specialist in the region where the person served resides, and the team members supporting the person who is in crisis. In some circumstances, the support may be widened to include other BBS staff including the regional behavioral specialist, various regional staff, and at times crisis specialists from other regions. There is quite a wide variety of supports that may be accessed through the CRT.

Please see the DDSD Policy EAPCS for additional information on establishing procedures.

Please see the Crisis Response Team Brochure for more general details on our team.

Developmental Disabilities Waiver

Developmental Disabilities Waiver (DDW) crisis supports are designed to provide an intensive level of supports by trained, seasoned staff to an individual experiencing a behavioral or medical crisis. These supports are requested through BBS regional staff and may be provided within the individual’s present residence or in an alternate residential setting. Crisis Response Staff from DDW provider agencies approved to provide Crisis Supports may also be utilized for individuals in crisis, alongside or in the place of BBS Crisis Response Staff. Please see Chapter 8 of the Developmental Disabilities Waiver Service Standards for more information regarding this DDW service.
